Candy Lee McComas, age 57, of Wakeman, died Tuesday evening, October 9, 2007 at the Rehabilitation & Nursing Center at Firelands, New London where she had lived since 1992. She was born May 19, 1950 in Bay Village, Ohio, daughter of the late Fred L. and Lajean (Novotany) Weldon, Jr. She was raised in Vermilion and lived there for many year and in Lorain for several years. She had been in the Wakeman area since 1975. Candy was a 1968 graduate of Admiral King High School. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her daughter, Cara (Mike) Dalton of Wakeman; 2 granddaughters, Sierra Holliday and Emily Dalton and 1 grandson, Michael Dalton; 2 brothers, Richard Weldon of LaGrange and Fred Weldon, III of Texas; 2 sisters, Sue Hughes of Oberlin and Debra Gullickson of Lorain. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry McComas, Sr. in 2002, her stepson, Jerry McComas, Jr. , her sister, Bonnie Iwaniki. Friends may call from 1:00 p.m. until the time of service at 3:00 p.m., Friday, October 12, 2007 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London.
