Eastman Funeral Home 419-929-3781 Carl L. Bohn, age 85, of Norwalk, died Sunday, December 21, 2014. He was born at home September 29, 1929 in Hartland Township, son of the late Carl O. and Hazel (Rounds) Bohn. Carl was a 1947 graduate of New London High School, where he was active in baseball, football, track and basketball. He served in the U.S. Army for six months then joined the Army National Guard. He was honorably discharged from the Army due to the death of his father so he could return home to manage his family farm. Carl was a lifelong farmer, retired from C.E. Ward Co. in New London, was co-owner of the New London Regalia, and sold seed for the Jacque Seed Co. He was an Elder at the Norwalk Church of Christ. He enjoyed draft horses, jigsaw puzzles, traveling to Florida, collecting baseball caps and John Deere model tractors, watching the RFD TV Channel, serving eggnog to his grandchildren. He is survived by his loving wife, Myrtle Irene (Long) Bohn whom he married January 22, 1954; his children, Cathy Lowry of Bowling Green, Debra (Terry) Foster of Dublin, Carla (Robert) Sattler of Perrysburg, Jefri Bohn of Bowling Green; grandchildren, Derrick Sattler, Jessica (Charles) Biggert, Nicole (Michael) Short, Dana Foster, Dustin Sattler, Josh Bohn, Kara Sattler, Lauren Foster; great grandchildren, Keegan and Lillie Short, Emma Biggert; sister, Sandy Motolik of Heartland Twp., nieces, Charlene O'Brien, Evon Morton, nephews, Tony Bedford and Chip Motolik. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Marjorie Meeker, Alma Bedford, niece, Melanie Nichols, brothers in law, Peter Motolik, Sr., Minor Bedford, Winton Meeker. Friends may call from 2-4 and 6 - 8 p.m. Monday, December 29, 2014 and from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m., Tuesday at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St., New London with Evangelists Sean Sullivan and Mark Larson officiating. Burial will follow at Hartland Ridge Cemetery.
