Obituary

Carol Sue Berry, 81, of Norwalk, died Sunday, August 21, 2022, at the Commons of Providence in Sandusky. Born on September 11, 1940 in Greenwich, she was the daughter of the late Ott and Faye (nee Meade) Blackert. Carol was a graduate of Greenwich High School. She went on to earn a Bachelors Degree from Kent State University and a Masters from Ashland University.

Carol was a 3rd grade teacher at Maplehurst Elementary School for many years. Following retirement, she was active with the Retired Teachers Association as well as Delta Kappa Gamma. Carol was also an active member of the Norwalk United Methodist Church. Traveling was an important part of Carol's life, whether it was to visit family or to follow her beloved Buckeyes. She will be remembered for her family gatherings and the wonderful food she would make, especially for Christmas and Thanksgiving. Most of all Carol cherished her children and grandchildren and the time she spent with them.

Survivors include her children, Michael Berry, of Washington, PA, Robin (Joseph) Grant, of Bridgeville, PA, Scott (Sharon) Berry, of Plain City, and Christopher (Lisa) Berry, of Norwalk; grandchildren, Samuel, Jack, Rachel, Mason (Tonya), Max, and Megan. Carol was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, William "Bill" Berry.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, August, 26, from 5-7 p.m. at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 West Main Street, Norwalk. A private family burial will take place at Woodlawn Cemetery at a later date. A Celebration of Life will be held on November 25 at Chris and Lisa's home.
