Carol Lea Friend, 93, of Bellevue died on Tuesday, April 22, 2025 at The Willows in Bellevue, under the care of Stein Hospice. Born in LaGrange on October 28, 1931, to the late Edward Wilford and Maude (nee Holcomb) Youngblood, Carol grew up in LaGrange. She married her husband of 65 years, Donald Friend, and they built their home in Pittsfield.
For over eighteen years she worked as a clerk at Fisher Fazio in Oberlin. Carol enjoyed golf and bowling. She and her husband were also avid campers.
She is survived by her children, Kathleen Friend, of Medina, John (Janet) Friend, of Florida, Cynthia (Ron) Supers, of New Philadelphia, and Lynelle (Duane) Baker, of Bellevue; 6 grandchildren; 2 step grandsons; 4 great grandchildren; 2 great great grandchildren; and brothers, Donald Youngblood and John Youngblood. Carol was preceded by her husband, Donald, her son, Michael, and brothers, Harris and Richard Youngblood.
A graveside service will be held at Pittsfield Cemetery East on Monday, April 28, beginning at 1 p.m. The Friend family suggests donations in memory of Carol to the Alzheimer's Association, to honor her husband who suffered from Alzheimer's disease.
