Carol Ann Gibson, age 72, of Clarksfield, died Saturday, Feb. 5, 2011 at her home, after a sudden illness. Carol was born July 15, 1938 in Clarksfield, daughter of the late Laurence & Louise (Riesen) Gibson. She graduated from Mt. Vernon Academy in 1956 and went on to Columbia Union College in Washington DC. Carol was an LPN and worked for many years at Gaymont Nursing Home, Norwalk, retiring in 2003. She also helped on the family dairy farm. Carol was a member of the Seventh Day Adventist Church, serving as a Deaconess and was active in affairs of the Church. She cared for her parents and other family members. She enjoyed her dogs and cats and crocheting, sewing and singing. In her early years she loved riding her motorcycle. Carol is survived by sister-in-law, Carol J. Gibson of Clarksfield; 2 nephews, Ben & Vanessa Gibson of Clarksfield and Mark & Lisa Gibson of Lebanon, Ohio; niece, Sharon & John McKeown of Sale Creek, TN; and numerous cousins, great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her brother, Carl F. Gibson in 2009. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 9, 2011 at the Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London, where services will be held 11:00 a.m. Thursday. Pastor Russell Gaskill will officiate and burial will follow in Clarksfield .
