Obituary

With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our beloved Carol Lynn Holden, who left us peacefully on Sunday, January 12th, at the age of 57, after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Surrounded by her loving children and the compassionate care of Kobacker House hospice in Columbus, Ohio, Carol's final moments were filled with love and peace.

Born on November 6, 1967, in the small town of Monroeville, OH, Carol was the cherished daughter of Shirley and John Holden. From a young age, Carol's nurturing spirit and boundless love for her family were evident. After graduating from Monroeville High School and briefly attending Ehove JVS Vocational School, she dedicated her life to raising her three children, Tony, Terry, and Leanna, who were the light of her life. Carol's greatest joy was ensuring her children had the most special and memorable childhoods, filled with love, laughter, and countless cherished moments.

Despite the challenges she faced as a single parent, Carol's unwavering compassion and dedication to others never faltered. She spent many years as an STNA where she provided exceptional care to residents with Alzheimer's disease. Carol's kindness, dignity, and respect for each individual she cared for left a lasting impact on all who knew her. Before her time as an STNA, Carol ran an in-home daycare in Willard, Ohio, where she treated every child as her own and led the local Cub Scouts program as Cub Master with immense pride and commitment.

In the winter of 2004, Carol's dream of owning a farmhouse came true. Just outside of Ashland, Ohio, she created a haven where she could care for her beloved horses and chickens. Her deep love for animals was a constant throughout her life, and her faithful companions—Fuzzy, Precious, Baby, and Birdy—were always by her side, bringing her endless joy and comfort.

Carol's passion for tent camping and her love for nature and flowers were well-known to all who loved her. In her later years, she discovered a talent for making wreaths, and each of her "crafty creations" will forever warm our hearts as they hang in remembrance of her.

Carol's life was deeply influenced by her grandmother "Gram," who held a special place in her heart. She carried Gram's love forward, sharing it generously with her grandchildren, Ezekiel, Eli, and Novalie, and stepsons Elias and Isaiah to whom she was known as "Meemaw".

Carol was preceded in death by her grandmother Gram, her mother Shirley, and her biological mother Rita; her father John; and her uncle Joseph. She leaves behind her loving children, Tony, Terry, and Leanna; Daughter-in law Desire; her brother Jace; her grandchildren Ezekiel, Eli, and Novalie; stepsons Elias and Isaiah; and her cherished pets Whiskers and Bear.

Carol's legacy of love, compassion, and unwavering dedication to her family and those she cared for will forever be remembered and cherished. Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who were fortunate enough to know her. Her final resting place will be at North Fairfield Cemetery in Huron County Ohio. A Celebration of Life will be held at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main St., Norwalk, on Saturday, January 18th at 4:00 PM.
