Carol A. Gillenwater, 79, of Wakeman, died on Tuesday, December 28, 2021 at the Laurels of New London surrounded by her family.  Carol was born on August 9, 1942 in Oberlin, the daughter of the late Donald L. Rosecrans and Bertha L. (Gallatin) Barnett.

Carol was a graduate of Firelands High School and the Medina County business school.  On May 6, 1961 she married Robert G. Gillenwater.  She took great pride in being a homemaker. A loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Carol enjoyed attending her family members' events -she was their number one fan cheering them from the sidelines.

Carol is survived by her loving husband, Robert; daughters, Dena (Eric Molesky) Gillenwater and Bobbi (Chris) Sabin; son, Guy (Shonna) Gillenwater, all of New London; grandchildren, Derek (Hanna Ruggles) Sabin, Matt (Heather) Gillenwater, Nichole (RJ) Ringer, Erica Sabin, Dustin (Tiffany Slagle) Gillenwater and Emily Gillenwater; 7 great-grandchildren and sisters, Betty Misko, of Texas, and Cindy (Joe) Storrow, of Wellington.

She was preceded in death by her father, Donald L. Rosecrans; mother and step-father, Bertha and George Barnett; infant daughter, Connie Sue Gillenwater; sister, Dottie Weyer and nephews, Donnie and Mike Rosecrans.
