Obituary

Carol A. Sabin, 68, of Wellington, died Wednesday, March 10, 2010 at Keystone Pointe in LaGrange. The daughter of the late Carl and Helen McKenzie, Carol was born in Brighton on June 9, 1941 and was a Wellington High School graduate. Carol and her husband owned and worked at Wakeman Food Center until 1997. Her hobbies included reading, bird watching, knitting, playing cards and dominos. Carol also enjoyed road trips, especially touring factories to see how things were made. Her other passion was her grandchildren. Survivors include her husband of 47 years, Clifford; sons, Craig (Allison) Sabin, of Ashland and Curt (Kelli) Sabin, of Copley and 5 grandchildren, Nick, Natalie, Kate, Ellie and Nate. Carol is also survived by her brother, Richard (Patti) McKenzie of Amherst. She was preceded in death by a daughter in 1963. Visiting hours will be held from 5-8 p.m. on Friday, March 12 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where funeral services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. with Rev. Lea Mahan officiating. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington. Donations in memory of Carol can be made to the American Cancer Society, 10501 Euclid Ave., Cleveland, OH 44106.
