Carol A. Thompson, 80, of Mansfield and formerly of Greenwich, Ohio, died on Thursday, September 26, 2024, at her home. She was born on July 24, 1944, in Sandusky, Ohio, the daughter of the late Elton O. "Buster" and Violet L. (Kennedy) Snyder. Carol was a Registered Nurse at Peoples Hospital in Mansfield for many years and would later join the staff at Gaymont Nursing Home in Norwalk, where she remained until retirement.
Carol was a member of the St. Paul Catholic Church in Norwalk. She enjoyed traveling and visited the Bahamas, Key West, Cape Canaveral, New Orleans, the Grand Canyon and Miami. Music concerts were something Carol looked forward to attending; at a Rod Stewart show, he sang to her while she was sitting in a front row seat. She was an avid reader of Stephen King novels and loved scary movies, especially horror films. Carol was a huge fan of Ohio State football as well as the Cleveland Browns. She never met a cat she didn't love.
Carol is survived by her daughters, Jodi Thompson of Columbus, OH and Diane Thompson of Tallahassee, FL; grandson, Corve Baker, granddaughter, Lianna Baker; great-grandson, Briden Rinaldi; brother, Dr. Robert A. (Nancy) Snyder of Butler; nieces and nephews, Cara Snyder, Benjamin Snyder and Andrew Snyder; and friend, Patricia Peschke. In addition to her parents, Carol was preceded in death by her sister, Evelyn Snyder and brother, Jerry Snyder.
Friends and family are invited to a Memorial Visitation on Friday, October 25, 2024 from 2:00 – 4:00 p.m. at the Eastman Funeral Home, 49 W. Main St. Greenwich, Ohio.
