Norwalk, Ohio - Carroll R. Poling, 86, of Norwalk, Ohio, died Sunday morning, April 30, 2017, at the Norwalk Memorial Home at Fisher-Titus Medical Center. Carroll was born on his family's farm in Polingtown, Indiana, on September 5, 1930, to the late Worthy A. and Beryl Roby Poling, moving to Norwalk when Carroll was a boy. Carroll graduated from Norwalk High School, and went on to serve stateside in the US Air Force during the Korean War. After returning to Norwalk with his new wife, Virginia, Carroll worked as a heavy equipment operator, last working for Mark's Excavating upon his retirement. Carroll is survived by his wife of 65 years, Virginia Hodges Poling, two daughters Deborah L. Poling of Columbus, Ohio, and Janet Poling Reiss (Gary) of Worthington, Ohio, and by two sons, Randol A. Poling of Kentucky, and Richard J. Poling. Visitation will be on Saturday, May 20, 2017, from 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at Walker Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, with the funeral and Celebration of Life being held on Sunday, May 21, 2017, at 3:00 p.m., at the First Presbyterian Church of Norwalk, 21 Firelands Blvd, Norwalk, Ohio. Rev. David Comstock will officiate.
