Catherine 'Katie' Farr, 68, of Nova, died November 9, 2011 at Hospice of North Central Ohio, Ashland after a one year battle with ovarian cancer. Born January 7, 1943, in New London and was a life long resident of Nova. She attended Ruggles Troy Schools. Katie worked for Rubbermaid, Wooster; Nabisco, Seville; Fire-Dex, Medina for several years and the last 10 years she worked at Lyme Village and Cedar Point where she spun wool and wove rugs. Katie was a Troy Township board member for the Waste Water Treatment Facility; a member of the Lorain County Spinners and Weavers Guild; New London American Legion Ladies Auxiliary and Valley City VFW. She was well known for her rug weaving, quilting and spinning. Survivors include her children, James Farr of Nova, Ernest Brian (Sharon) Farr of Nova, Michael Farr of Nova, Victoria (James) Oney of Ashland and Elizabeth (Dexter) Chandler of Nova; grandchildren, Amy Farr of Columbus, Aaron Oney of Ashland, Jamie Oney of Ashland and Tina (Nathan) Kyser of Kansas; 4 great-grandchildren and sister, Mary (James) Reed of Indiana. Katie was preceded in death by her parents, Lyle and Norma (Snyder) Williams and a grandson, Mark Farr. Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Monday, November 14th at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 W. Main St., New London. There will be a private burial at a later date.
