Catherine Dorothy Lacko, 93, of LaGrange, passed away on Saturday, November 01, 2014 at EMH. Born on April 5, 1921 in Shawtown, PA to the late Mike and Theresa (nee Marchick) Lucas, Catherine grew up in Pennsylvania and graduated from Berlin Brothers Valley High School in 1938. Catherine found great joy in raising and taking care of her family. A devoted wife and mother she enjoyed working on the family farm. As her family grew she enjoyed the time she spent with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. An avid gardener, Catherine was especially good at growing roses. Her other interests included baking, teaching, writing poems and children's books, complete with her own illustrations. Catherine loved listening to country music and dancing with her husband, Andy. She was a member of Saint Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington. Survivors include her sons, Jerry (Judy) Lacko, of Columbus, Alan (Carol) Lacko, of Elyria, Kenneth Lacko, of LaGrange; daughters, Shirley (Wallace) Fees, of Grafton and Janet (Al) Skinner, of LaGrange; 16 grandchildren and 26 great grandchildren. Catherine was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years, Andrew Lacko and siblings, Frank, Steve, George, infant baby George, and Mary. Friends and family may call from 6-8 p.m. on Monday, November 3 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. A mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, 512 N. Main St., Wellington with Father Reymann officiating.
