Catherine Lavern Mudrick, 50, died Monday, September 12, 2016 at her home. A daughter of Vernon and Carolyn (nee Gilley) Remines, Cathy was born on January 1, 1966 in Wellington, where she resided most of her life. Cathy worked at Checkers Pizza for many years. She enjoyed the simple life; some of Cathy's favorite activities were writing and gardening. She was very close with her mother and loved spending time with her kids. Survivors include her husband of 29 years, Stephen Mudrick; mother, Carolyn Remines, children, Stephen Mudrick, Jr., and Asia Starr Mudrick, both of Spencer; sisters, Barbara Jennings, Patricia Hardy and Loretta Dewitt, all of Wellington; and her four cats, Escapee, Tourette, Tinker and Rosebud. She was preceded in death by her father, Vernon and brother, Richard Remines. Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 17 from 12 p.m. until the 2 p.m. funeral service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington.
