Catherine Ann Schnellinger, 61, of Elyria, passed away peacefully on May 30, 2019 at Ames Family Hospice House in Westlake. She was born on January 15, 1958 in Davenport, Iowa to James E and the late Mary Jane (Westendorf) Kuemmerle.

Catherine was an extremely joyful and loving person. She volunteered for Hospice of the Western Reserve and was a voracious reader. She graduated from Goddard High School in Roswell, New Mexico and the University of Colorado (Boulder) with a degree in religious studies.

Catherine is survived by her loving husband of 34 years, Brian Schnellinger; her father, James (Ginger) Kuemmerle; siblings, Edward (Lora) Kuemmerle, Thomas (Pat) Kuemmerle, Barbara (Bernard) Hardy, Colleen (Tracy) Bass and William (Belinda) Kuemmerle; she is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Carol Jean Schnellinger and sister, Anita Kuemmerle.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, June 1, 2019 from 3 pm - 4 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home at 98 W Main St, Norwalk, OH 44857. A committal service and burial will follow the visitation at St Alphonsu Cemetery.
