Obituary

Cecelia P. 'Sis' Cleavenger, 51, of New London, died Sunday, May 29, 2011 at FTMC after an 8 month illness. She was born January 27, 1960 in Norwalk and lived most of her life in New London. She was a homemaker and former manager of Burger King, Norwalk for several years. Cecelia was an advisor for the Desperados 4-H Club for several years with goats and horses. She enjoyed reading, making jewelry, sewing, going to rodeos and also loved to travel. Survivors include her husband of 33 years, William; children, Stephen M. Ours of New London, Melissa A. Cleavenger of North Fairfield, Jessica E. Cleavenger and Chaddem R. Shenefield both of New London; 7 grandchildren; mother, Ellen Cleavenger of New London; siblings, Ellen Bowling, Margaret (Martin) Wiley, Melanie (Charles) Roberts all of New London, Carl R. Ours, Jr. of Savannah, Theresa Patchin of Norwalk, Jeffrey Ours of New London and Larry Ours of Norwalk. She was preceded in death by her father, Carl R. Ours, Sr. and sisters, Carla Sue Ours and Karen Heitsche. Visitation will be held Thursday, June 2, 2011 from 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a funeral service will be held Friday at 2 p.m. with Danny Howard officiating. Burial will follow at Grove Street Cemetery, New London. Donations may be given to the family in care of Eastman Funeral Home.
