Charlene
Sturgill
June 10, 1950 – September 1, 2024
Charlene Sturgill, beloved sister, aunt, and cherished friend, left us peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on September 1, 2024, at the age of 74. Born on June 10, 1950, in Pikeville, KY, she was a graduate of Milan High School, class of 1968. Charlene was a shining light in the lives of those who cherished her.
Charlene is survived by her loving family, sister, Sharon (Alex) MacNicol, sister, Elaine Sturgill, niece, Vanessa (Matt), and her treasured nephews, Blake MacNicol, Mason and Logan Schaller. She is also remembered fondly by her extended family, who carry forward the memories of her kind and generous spirit.
She was preceded in death by her father and mother, Gene and Mollie Sturgill, brother, Larry Sturgill and nephew, Sean MacNicol.
Charlene was a master of creating cherished memories. The boys will forever hold dear the delightful times spent making Christmas fudge with her, a tradition that filled their hearts and their homes with warmth and sweetness. Charlene believed in the healing power of nature, often finding joy in tea tree oil and aloe. She was always eager to soothe a scrape or ache with her gentle touch and a dab of these natural remedies.
The beach was a special place for Charlene, where family bonds deepened with every wave and every laugh shared, even if the sun wasn't her favorite companion. Her stories about family history captivated her listeners, connecting generations and instilling a sense of pride about their roots.
Her love for grounding, car rides to Lake Erie, and her passion for purifying water were reflections of her appreciation for the simple yet profound joys of life.
Charlene's gratitude for those around her was palpable, and she had an extraordinary ability to bring joy to others, often encouraging and uplifting those in her presence. Her spirit of kindness and her laughter will be missed deeply.
In honor of Charlene's memory, we invite family and friends to celebrate her life, sharing stories, laughter, and love as she would have wanted. A celebration of life will be held at a future date. Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, Norwalk is honored to assist the family with Charlene's arrangements.
