Charles Lewis Ewing, 98, died Monday, May 3, 2010 at the Elms Retirement Village in Wellington. Born on August 1, 1911 in Rices Landing, Pennsylvania, Charles was the son of the late William H. and Sarah E. (nee Knisley) Ewing. Charles worked for the Jones and Laughlin Coal Mine in Pennsylvania for 30 years. He later retired from Ford Motor Company in Michigan. Charles was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church and the Wellington Eagles. Survivors include his 3 children, Beverly Hardoby, of Wellington, Charles Ewing, Jr. of Cape Coral, FL, Irvin Ewing of Myrtle Beach, SC; 5 grandchildren and many great grandchildren. Charles was preceded in death by his wife, Alice; his siblings and a grandson, Frankie Lee Hardoby. Friends may call on Friday May 14th from 7 to 9 p.m. at St. Patrick's Catholic Church, 512 N. Main St., Wellington, where a memorial mass will be held on Saturday, May 15th at 10 a.m. with Rev. James Reymann officiating.
