Charles "Charlie" Fisher, 73, of Norwalk, passed away on April 16, 2019 at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a brief illness. He was born on May 3, 1945 in Norwalk to the late John and Pauline (nee Schnellinger) Fisher.
Charlie never missed a day of school and graduated from St. Paul Catholic High School in 1963. He served his country as a U.S. Army Drill Sergeant during the Vietnam War. Charlie enjoyed keeping people entertained. He was a collector of many things including anvils and antique cars. He had the world's largest pedal tractor collection. He was happiest attending his grandchildren's sporting events or on his loader at the topsoil pile.
Charlie owned and operated "Topsoil King" and "Hillside Wood Heat" for over 40 years. He was a member of St. Alphonsus Catholic Church and St. Paul Alumni Association.
He is survived by his wife, Jean (nee Bores) Fisher; sons, Larry (Rhonda) Fisher and Mark Fisher; stepsons, John (Kristine) Livengood, Eric (Maria) Livengood and Ryan Eastman; grandchildren, Annabelle, Aidan, Eli and Isabelle Fisher, Hannah (Jim) Lapinski, CJ, Olivia, Lars, Isaac, Emma, Joe and Andrew Livengood and Xaviar Eastman; siblings, Dorothy (Dan) Ruffer, Bernie Mirtes and Theresa Fisher; great grandchildren, Lily, Rose and Arron and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Charlie was preceded in death by his wife Ruth (nee Zureich) Fisher and sister, Janet Hoyt.
Visitation will be on Saturday, April 20th from 2 pm - 6 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W Main St, Norwalk. A mass will be held at St Paul Catholic Church, 91 E Main St, on Monday, April 22nd at 10:30 am with Fr. Ron Schock officiating. Burial will follow in St Alphonsus Catholic Cemetery.
