Obituary

Charles W. Foster, 94, formally of Wellington and Greenwich, Ohio died Tuesday, March 15th 2011 in Medina, Ohio. Charles was born in Willard, Ohio on June 16th 1916 to Margie and Royal C. Foster. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, fixing appliances, woodworking and crossword puzzles. Many of his pencil holders, cutting boards and trivets have been sent as gifts all over the world. He retired from the railroad as signal maintainer 35 years ago and enjoyed every day of that retirement. He was a Mason for over 60 years, a member of the Eagles, and a member of the Wellington Congregational Church. He is the beloved father of Kay (Jack) Salzman, Medina; Larry (Cheryl) Foster, Wadsworth; Nancy (David) Poszgai, Sheffield Lake; and Barbara (Chris) Lloyd, St. Petersburg Florida. Grandfather of Beth Ewing, David Foster, Scott Salzman, LeighAnn Champion, Debra Erbs, Michelle Schmidt, Charlie and Michael Lloyd. Great-grandfather to twelve. Brother-in-law to Bonnie Foster and Jeanne Hopkins of Greenwich. He was preceded in death by his wives, Eleanor Hopkins 1984 and Constance Curfman 2001. Brothers, Paul and Rowland; daughter-in-law, Cynthia Foster; sisters-in-law, Jane Ferrell and Ginny Foster; brothers-in-law, Robert Hopkins and Kenneth Ferrell and great-grandsons, Kody Salzman and Eric Schmidt. Visitation will be held at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich from 12P.M. until the time of the service at 2P.M. on Saturday, March 19th with Pastor Georgette Gaston officiating, burial will follow in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery. Memorials if desired may be made to the American Cancer Society.
