Obituary

Charles "Turtle" K. (Cervone) Armbruster, 77, of Monroeville, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on November 28, 2020. Charles was born on November 30, 1942 to the late Betty (Kamke) and Charles Pascal Cervone Jr., and he was later adopted by Robert F. Armbruster.

After his graduation from Huron High School, Charles began to attend courses at The Ohio State University, when he received an offer from Huntington Bank in Columbus, Ohio, as a computer programmer. It was at Huntington Bank that he would meet the future mother of his children, Sharon. After that, he moved his family to Norwalk to begin working for Plastic Molder Supplies (PMS). He then started his own company, Simplified Data Systems, in the 1980's, where he continued as a computer programmer and did programming for several local businesses. Charles would later retire from Berry Plastics in Monroeville.

Charles was a huge fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes, a highlight of his life was to watch every football game ever played. Charles enjoyed investing in penny stocks, bitcoin, and other cryptocurrencies. He also enjoyed gardening and growing beautiful houseplants. He had a green thumb and easily could grow a beautiful plant from just a small clipping. Another enjoyable activity for him was his daily trips to Aldi; he marveled at the organized structure of the store and the "magnificent labor" of the employees. He was a lover of all plants and animals. He would often visit the Huron County Humane Society to "check on" the animals there. Charles gave the gift of life through organ donation, and his spirit will continue to live on through others.

He is survived by his children, Jeffrey Armbruster, of Columbus, Karen Passero, of Columbus, Tracy (Darren) McQuerrey, of Milan, and Tricia Selka, of Norwalk; eleven grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; sister, Carmen (Richard) Ritz, of Temecula, California; mother to his children, Sharon Schultz; and several nieces and nephews. Charles also had a dear friend, Melvin Bores, who was always just a phone call away and ready to help him out with whatever he needed.

In addition to his parents, Charles is preceded in death by his brother, Douglas K. Armbruster.

There will be no services at this time, but his family plans to hold a Celebration of Life to honor and remember Charles, which will be announced at a later date.
