Obituary

Charles E. 'Chuck' McCullough, age 96 of New London, died May 3 at his home. He was born October 14, 1912, in Lorain, Ohio, to the late Morris and Mabel (Gower) McCullough. Chuck graduated from Camden High School in Kipton, Ohio in 1931. He had worked for Ohly's Drug Store in Oberlin for 1 year. Chuck then worked for the A&P grocery chain from 1932 to 1967, managing the New London store from 1937 to 1967. He continued working in his machine shop, Mac-Tool, until well into his eighties. Mac-Tool was the forerunner of Rankin Mfg., New London, owned by grandsons Eric and Michael Rankine. He had been a past member of the New London Moose. 'He is survived by three daughters and two sons-in-law: Dianne and Dan Sims of Brownsburg, Indiana, Judith and Alex Rankine of New London, Jill McCullough of Clyde, and one son, William McCullough; eight grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren and two great-great grandchildren Chuck was preceded in death by his wife, Treva (Bishop) McCullough; two brothers, Horace 'Red' and Lyle McCullough; and three sisters, Ruth Chrysler, Mill Baker, and Marge Schrull. 'There will be no public visitation or service. Eastman Funeral Home in New London is in charge of arrangements.
