Charles H. Mead, 83, of New London, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, February 13, 2022.  He was born on October 9, 1938 in Mossy Bottom, KY to the late Lawrence and Nineveth (Adkins) Meade.

In 1951, Charles came to New London and has been a resident since.  He was a 1956 graduate of Green Springs High School.  Charles retired after 30 years with the Ford Motor Company of Lorain and Avon Lake.  He was a faithful servant of God, a member of the Norwalk Church of Christ, and he preached in New London, Fitchville and Norwalk.

Charles cherished and loved his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  On July 15, 1958 he married Doris Goble, together they shared 63 wonderful years of marriage.  Charles enjoyed gardening, fishing, and hunting.

Charles is survived by his loving wife, Doris Mead; their children, Charles (Sue) Mead Jr., and James (Tami) Mead; 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, JoAnn (Phillip) Stiltner, Sylvia Watts, Evelyn Estep, Kenny (Sharon) Meade.

In addition to his parents, Charles was preceded in death by his brothers, Jack, Gary and Everett Meade; sisters, Ellen Hunt and Mag Caster.

Friends and family will be received on Friday, February 18, 2022 from 3:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London, where his Funeral Service will begin at 4:00 p.m. with Linroe Meade officiating.  Online condolences may be shared with the family at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
