Charles Donald Springer, Sr., 73, of Wellington, died Saturday, September 29, 2012 at his residence. Born on February 20, 1939 in Lancaster to the late Gilbert Woodrow and Frances Juliett (nee Thomas) Springer, Charles moved to Wellington in 1946. Charles worked at Oberlin Animal Hospital for 16 years. He retired from the Oberlin College custodial department after 26 years. Charles enjoyed hunting, fishing, and playing bluegrass music. He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Joan; children, Charles 'Chuck' Donald (Christine) Springer, Jr., Diann Louise Hetman and Cynthia Ann (David) Kelley; 6 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. Friends and family will be received on Monday, October 1, 2012 from 6-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington, where funeral services will be held on Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Pittsfield Township Cemetery.
