Charlotte L. Vanderpool, lifelong resident of Greenwich, died Sunday, July 26, 2015 at her home. She was 79. She was born April 9, 1936, in Greenwich, to the late Fred and Ella (Oney) Sutton. She attended Greenwich Schools. Charlotte worked at the Shelby Air Force Depot for several years and was a cook at South Central High School for 13 years until her retirement in the early 90's. Charlotte loved church and was a member of the Guinea Corner Church of God in Willard and played the organ. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, gardening, camping, sewing and cooking. Her family noted her as being an "excellent cook." She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Harless Vanderpool, Jr. of North Fairfield; children, Robert (Jean) Vanderpool of Norwalk, Linda (David) Seidel of Greenwich, John (Sherry) Vanderpool of Greenwich, Tim (Brenda) Vanderpool of Greenwich, Sarah Vanderpool of North Fairfield, Kay (Rod) Zellner of North Fairfield and Debbie (Jeff) Gilbert of Greenwich; several grandchildren and great grandchildren; sister, Anna Jane Coburn of Greenwich and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Charlotte was preceded in death by her grandson, Cody Zellner and sister, Beverly Seidel. Her family will greet friends 2-4 and 6-8 pm Wednesday, July 29, 2015 at Eastman Funeral Home, 49 West Main Street, Greenwich where a service will be held 11 am Thursday with Pastor Dennis Shrader officiating. Burial will follow in Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery.
