Christopher "Kit" Angell, 80, of Norwalk, passed away peacefully, Thursday, February 24, 2022, at his home, ending a long journey with Parkinson's and Parkinson's Dementia. Kit was born in Norwalk, OH on May 24, 1941, to the late Emily and Alan (Scotty) Angell, Sr. Kit was raised in Norwalk and graduated from Norwalk High School in 1959. He was very proud to have maintained close friendships with his high school classmates and looked forward to their monthly luncheons.
Next to spending time with his family and attending sporting and other events of his daughters, and grandchildren, Kit loved boating and spending time at his own private island, Angell Island, located in the Thousand Island region of the St. Lawrence River in upstate New York. He also loved his golden retrievers, putzing around on projects, boats, cars, and Ohio State football. Kit bowled in the Elks Bowling League for close to 50 years. Kit found a friend in everyone and had a knack for sharing stories that brought a smile to your face.
Kit worked for over 30 years at Norwalk Concrete Industries, and he also worked for Plastic Molders Supply and Bleile Supply. He was a member of St. Paul Episcopal Church and attended the First United Methodist Church in Norwalk. Kit also loved attending The Church of the St. Lawrence when he was spending time at Angell Island.
Kit is preceded in death by his parents, Alan Scott Angell, Sr. and Emily (Williams) Angell.
Kit is survived by his loving wife, Deb (Albright) Angell; brother, Alan (Margi) Angell, Jr. of Ft. Myers, FL; daughters, Andrea (Jim) Gillcrist of Bethesda, MD and Jenni (Josh) Nickoli of Norwalk; grandchildren, Cameron Nickoli of Summerville, SC and Carter and Carley Nickoli, both of Norwalk.
A visitation will be held on Monday, February 28, 2022, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 1, 2022, at 10:30 am at Norwalk First United Methodist Church, 60 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. Pastor Brian Oglesbee will be presiding. Burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery in Norwalk.
