Christopher Thomas Smith

Christopher Thomas Smith, 42, of Wellington, died Wednesday, July 1, 2026 at home. Born on June 7, 1984, in Charleston, WV, he was the son of Thomas and Teressa (nee Stanley) Smith. Chris was a longtime Wellington resident.

From a young age, Chris thoroughly enjoyed making fond memories, spending time with his family, fishing on his Mom and Dad’s pond, vacationing at the beach, sitting by bonfires, going to sports games, and visiting family in West Virginia. Chris was also an avid reader his whole life.

Survivors include his parents, Thomas and Teressa Smith, of Wellington; daughter, Ryli P. Smith, of Wellington; brother, Joshua S. Smith and sister-in-law (sister-in-heart), Lindsay Smith, of Gallipolis; niece, Evelyn Marie Smith; and nephew, Owen Thomas Smith.
