Clarence E. Parsons, 91 of Wellington, died Monday, September 12, 2011 at the Hospice of Medina County. He was born on September 1, 1920 to the late Earl and Dorothy (nee Gott) Parsons. Clarence lived his whole life in the Wellington area and was a graduate of Penfield High School.
Clarence was a dairy farmer, and owned his own farm in Wellington. He was passionate about his work and was the past president of the District 8 Holstein Club as well as a member of the Ohio Holstein club. Clarence was also a member of the Lorain County Farm Bureau. Apart from his work, Clarence enjoyed flower gardening and especially attending auctions.
Survivors include his wife of 70 years, Florence (nee Griffith) Parsons; his children, Carolyn (Carl) Knapp, Marie (Gareld) Waite , Sandra (John) Westfall, all of Wellington, Martha (Ray) Sheets-Denham and Dale (Pam) Parsons both of Penfield. He is also survived by 17 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren, and a brother Fred Parsons of Penfield. Clarence was preceded in death by two of his grandchildren Michael Sheets in 1997 and Dawn Knapp Barlow in 2010.
Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 4-8 p.m. at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 South Main St. Wellington, where a service will be held on Thursday, September 15 at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
