Claudette Shepherd, 85, of New London, died Wednesday, July 3, 2024 at home, surrounded by her loving family. Born on January 26, 1939 in Floyd County KY, she was the daughter of the late John and June (nee Mead) Harvey. Claudette moved to New London at a young age and spent most of her life there.

Claudette enjoyed tending her flower gardens and spending time outdoors in nature. She would spend peaceful afternoons watching the birds at her feeders. She also enjoyed taking camping trips with family as well as playing cards. Most of all Claudette cherished time spent with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her children, Denise (Steve) Ball, of New London, Martin (Cindy) Shepherd, of Greenwich, Rose (Chris) Kern, of Norwalk, Elliot Shepherd, of Clarksfield, Desmond (Angela) Shepherd, of Fitchville, Amber (Phillip) Daniels, of Norwalk, Jessica (Gheorghe) Gureu, of New London, and Charity (Eric) Case, of New London; her companion of many years, Daniel Clark; 19 grandchildren; 27 great grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; sisters, Lois Kosic, Brenda Crawford, and Debbie Sherman. Claudette was preceded in death by her husband 48 years, Lowell C. Shepherd; a son Gary Shepherd; a granddaughter, Rachelle Shepherd; sister, Diane Hall; and a daughter-in-law, Nikki Shepherd.

Friends and family will be received on Tuesday, July 9, from 5-7 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main St, New London.
