Clifford Dale Cromer, 75, of Wellington, died Monday, November 29, 2010 at his residence. He was born on June 2, 1935, in Durbin, West Virginia, son of the late Arthur and Mary (Price) Cromer.
He graduated from Greenbank High School and moved to Ohio in 1953. On June 7, 1955, Clifford married Anna 'Annie' Shanks. Clifford worked for D.A. Miller in Lorain as a truck driver, and was a mechanic at BFI in Elyria where he retired in 1999 after 30 years. He was a loving and devoted father and grandfather. He also loved spending time with his grandchildren. Clifford enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. He loved farming and working on his farm equipment.
Survivors include his loving wife of 55 years, Annie; five children and their spouses, Dwight (Melody) Cromer of Chattanooga, TN, Deborah (Tom) Schuman of Amherst, Arthur (Pamela) Cromer of Wellington, Martha (John) Ward of Oberlin, and Lisa (Brian) Hipp of Wellington; eight grandchildren, David Cromer, Kimberly Cromer, Josh Ward, Tom Schuman II, Andrew Hipp, Vincent Hipp, Meredith Clement and Courtney Hershey, seven great grandchildren and five siblings, Shirley Adams, Wanita Felts, Kathy Carter, Marilyn Hunley and Natalie Cromer. He was preceded in death by his brother Woodrow 'Woody' Cromer, and a sister Beverly Arboguest.
Family and friends will be received from 3-5 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, December 1st at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington where a funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday with Rev. Christopher Robinson officiating. Burial will follow at Ridge Hill Memorial Park, Amherst.
