Clinton Williams, 60, of Knob Noster, MO and formerly of New London, died Sunday, June 17, 2012 at his residence. He was born in New London to the late Ralph and Goldie Belle (Kidd) Williams. Clinton was a life long resident of the Greenwich and New London areas.
He graduated from South Central High School in 1970 and a graduate of the Ohio Peace Academy. Clinton served as a North Fairfield Police Chief in the mid to late 1970's. He also worked as a manager for PMS in Norwalk and then Thermocolor in Sandusky.
Clinton served in the United States Army from 1971 to 1973 and was a member of the Ohio Military Reserve. He was FEMA certified to help as a first responder.
He was a member of the Mohican Valley Wings Motorcycle Club and founder of the Erie County Chapter of Southern Cruisers Motorcycle Club. He was a former member of the New London Park Board.
Clinton enjoyed flying model planes and was a loving husband, father and grandfather.
He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Harrisileen (King-Clark) Williams; son, Ralph (Samantha) Williams of Knob Noster, MO; daughter, Stephanie (Alicia Babcock) Davison of Ashland; grandchildren, Hannah Williams, Hope Williams, Austin Jaqusch, Carter Jaqusch and Tyler Davison and sisters, Eva (Ken) Ratliff and Nina (Lloyd) Spears both of New London. Clinton was preceded in death by a brother, Lenox 'Bucky' Williams.
Visitation for family and friends will be held Friday, June 22 from 4-8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a service will be held Saturday at 10 a.m. with Pastor Charles Mead officiating. Burial will follow at Fitchville Cemetery with military rites.
