Obituary

Cortland Brooks "C.B." Ringler, 91, of Greenwich, passed away early Tuesday morning, December 14, 2021 at University Hospital Samaritan Medical Center in Ashland.

Brooks was born on July 15, 1930 in Ashland County, OH to the late Cortland E. and Helen (Huffman) Ringler.

Brooks was a lifelong farmer and worked many years in a partnership with his brother. His family is well known for making maple syrup across many generations. He was a member of the Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London. In his spare time, Brooks enjoyed fishing, hunting and traveling, especially to Alaska.

Brooks is survived by 3 children, Christine Sayre of Arizona, James (Julie) Ringler of Greenwich and H. Kaye Corwin of Lexington; 6 grandchildren, Angela, Jason, Ryan, Brody, Audrey and Dawson; 6 great-grandchildren; 3 great-great-grandchildren and sister, Alice (George) Walker of Greenwich.

In addition to his parents, Brooks was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth Ringler, who passed in 2014; son, Thomas in infancy; 2 brothers and 3 sisters.

At this time, the family is not planning a formal funeral service. A Celebration of Life is planned for next year.
