Craig R. Smith, 55 of Clarksfield died at his residence on Saturday, May 1, 2021. A 1984 graduate of New London (OH) High School, he proudly considered New London home his entire life.

After high school Craig worked at Ortner Airport in Wakeman, and subsequently earned his commercial helicopter license.  He also did farm and excavation work with his father as well as using his knowledge of the trades to do construction work.  Most recently Craig provided window washing services to many local businesses and residents.

Craig cherished time spent with family and friends.  He was good natured and always quick to share a laugh or smile.  Craig especially enjoyed teaching his niece and nephews how to fish, hunt, ride motorcycles and all-terrain vehicles, as well as how to fix things.

Craig was preceded in death by his parents, Dick and Lois Smith.  He was loved and will be missed by siblings, Kim (Chris), Marc (Mercedes), Scott (Ann); niece Courtney, and nephews Danny, Patrick, Erik, Peter.

Family and friends may call on Friday, May 7 from 5-7pm at Eastman Funeral Home (New London).  A graveside service will be held on Saturday, May 8, 2021 at 11:00 a.m. at the Clarksfield Methodist Cemetery.  Guests attending are reminded to wear a mask and practice all social distancing guidelines.  Eastman Funeral Home assisted the family with arrangements and online condolences may be shared at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
