Cynthia A. McComas, 81, of New London, Ohio, passed away peacefully on Sunday, July 9, 2023, at the Laurels of New London Nursing Home.  She was born on February 24, 1942, in New Britain, Connecticut to the late Raymond and Florence (Schmalz) Steele.

Cynthia was a faithful member of the New London First Baptist Church for many years.  She enjoyed reading her bible, doing word searches, and spending time with her family, especially when her grandchildren were involved.

She is survived by her daughter, Cheryl Hansen of Elyria; grandchildren, Robert Hansen of Elyria, and Reba Hansen of Norwalk; sister in-law, Sandy Hardway; brother in-law, Ronald McComas; as well as several nieces and nephews, and many cousins.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William McComas; daughter, Nancy McComas; son, William McComas Jr.; and siblings, Raymond and David Steele, and Lois Stevens.

Family and friends are invited to her visitation on Saturday, July 22, 2023, at the New London First Baptist Church, 432 Park Ave., New London, Ohio, from 1 p.m. until the time of the service, which will begin at 2 p.m., with Deacon Ed Hamilton officiating.  In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to the Autism Society of Greater Akron, 580 Grant St., Akron, Ohio 44311.  Online expressions of sympathy may be made by visiting: www.eastmanfuneralhome.com
