Obituary

Dan James Cost, age 88, of Wellington, died Thursday, September 18, 2008 at the New Life Hospice Residential Center in Lorain following a lengthy illness. Dan was born in Oakchia, Alabama to the late Dan and Georgia Cost, Sr. on February 7, 1920. Dan worked at the Sterling Foundry in Wellington where he retired at the age of 65. He also did construction work with Paul Mills for 23 years. Dan enjoyed hunting and fishing. Survivors include his 2 sons, Dan Edward (Erma Jean) Brown of Elyria and Dana of Wellington and a host of grandchildren. Dan was the beloved uncle of Jessie Wilson of Lorain, Albert J. (Lynette) Junior of Elyria, Leola (Harold) Washington of New Jersey, Dora H. (Donald) Brown of Elyria, Fannie Mary (Jesse) Hudson of Canton and several great nieces and nephews. Dan was preceded in death by his wife, Henrietta Cost; 2 sisters, Doretta Junior and Claretta Riley; a step sister, Ruby Ward Knight, and his grandson, Kevin Brown. Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, September 24th from 12 p.m. until the time of the 1 p.m. funeral service at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Officiating clergy will be Pastor Donald Brown and Pastor Jesse Hudson and burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery, Wellington.
