Dan B. Dickason, age 63, a lifelong Wellington resident, died Tuesday, December 11. He was born May 27, 1944 in Oberlin to the late Robert and Mary Dickason. Dan was a 1962 graduate of Wellington High School. Following graduation, Dan served in the Army from 1964 until 1966 where he was stationed in Germany.
He worked for the former Wedge Wire Company for 37 years before owning his own business, U.S. Screen in Sullivan. Dan was a member of the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Wellington and the Wellington Eagles. For over twenty years, he served as the President of the Wellington Athletic Boosters; Dan was also the Voice of the Wellington Dukes football team for twenty-five years.
Survivors include his wife of 42 years, Joanne; three children, Mike (Joy) Dickason of Gig Harbor, WA, Kristy Holliday of Wellington, and Matthew Dickason of Atlanta, GA; and 6 grandchildren. Dan is also survived by a brother, John Dickason of Greenville, PA.
Friends may call from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm on Friday, December 14 at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 370 S. Main St., Wellington. Friends may also call from 10:30 am until the time of funeral service at 11 am on Saturday at the First Congregational United Church of Christ, 140 S. Main St., Wellington. Rev. Brian Burke will officiate the service and burial will take place at a later date.
