Norwalk, Ohio - Daniel J. Hunt, Sr., 76, of Norwalk, Ohio, passed away Thursday, November 1, 2018 in his home. He was born May 15, 1942 in Canton, Ohio, to the late George and Ellen (Nyman) Hunt. Dan was a former employee of the Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company of Akron, Ohio, the United States Gypsum Company of Cody, Wyoming, and Certain Teed Corporation of Milan, Ohio. He had also served as a Wildland Firefighter for the California Division of Forestry, while living in Red Bluff, California. Dan loved the outdoors, and was an avid hunter, and fly fisherman. He also enjoyed hiking, panning for gold, and photography. He was a cancer survivor, and fought a courageous battle against ALS. Dan is survived by his children, Dan Hunt Jr. (Robin) of Norwalk, Ohio, Dave (Stacey) Hunt of Fremont, Ohio, Brian Hunt of Alliance, Ohio, Eric Hunt of Akron, Ohio, and Denise Richard of Little Elm, Texas. He is also survived by many grandchildren, and great grandchildren, by his sister, Linda Turner of Akron, Ohio, and by his companion, Carol Sprowles of Norwalk, Ohio.
