Obituary

Dana M. Phillips, 96, of Willard died Sunday, March 10, 2013 at The Willows of Willard. He was born November 12, 1916 in White Fox, Huron County, Ohio, son of the late Harry D. and Ethel (Harwood) Phillips. He worked at CCC camps in the 1930's. He also worked at Sterling Foundry in Wellington and later worked at Kasper Foundry in Elyria where he retired after many years. Dana was a well known coon hunter. He enjoyed attending farm auctions. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge F&AM in Wellington. He is survived by his daughter, Loretta (Leslie) Somsak of Greenwich; 3 grandsons and 4 great grandchildren. Dana was preceded in death by his wife, Berniece; father, Harry D. Phillips; mother, Ethel (Harwood) Phillips; step father, Floyd Phillips; great granddaughter, Rachel Somsak, sisters, Doris Babson, Juanita Phillips and Dorothy Walters and brother, Donald Phillips. A private graveside service took place at Huntington Cemetery. Online condolences may be made at www.eastmanfuneralhome.com.
