Darlene Kay Urich, 72, of Norwalk, passed away late Sunday evening, May 7, 2023, at her home after a courageous battle with cancer.

Darlene was born on October 3, 1950, in Sandusky, OH, to the late Mildred (Ernest) Fry and Forrest Fry. She graduated from Norwalk High School in 1969, and married her husband, Thomas Urich, on October 25, 1969. Darlene was employed at various dry cleaners, most recently, with Executive Cleaners, where she managed the business. In her spare time, Darlene enjoyed fishing and sewing. Her greatest joy of all was her family, especially her grandchildren.

Darlene is survived by her loving husband of 53 years, Thomas R. Urich; children, Terri (Cory Edwards) Rapp of Attica, and Timothy (Abby) Urich of Norwalk; 10 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren, and brothers, Dale (Judy) Fry of Attica, and Kyle (Joan) Fry of Greenwich.

In addition to her parents, Darlene was preceded in death by her brothers, Forrest (Jean) Fry, and Richard (Ruth) Fry.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 9, 2023, from 4 pm to 7 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. The funeral service will be Wednesday, May 10, 2023, at 11 am in the funeral home. The burial will take place at Fitchville Cemetery.
