Obituary

David Allen "Meko" Mekoleske, 73, of Wellington, died January 25, 2024 at Keystone Pointe. Born on April 18, 1950 in Oberlin, he was the son of the late Charles and Edith (nee Shick) Mekoleske. David was a life-long resident of the Penfield area and a 1968 graduate of Keystone High School. After graduation, David served in the United States Army.

Meko worked at Harshaw Chemical for many years. He was an active member of the VFW, American Legion, and the Eagles. David attended the Four Square Church in Elyria. He was an avid Cleveland sports fan, rooting on the Browns and Guardians. Most of all David enjoyed socializing with his friends and family.

Survivors include his brothers, Charles "Tob" (Pennie) Mekoleske, of Arizona, and Otis (Barb) Mekoleske, of Wooster; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.

Friends and family will be received on Wednesday, January 31, at Norton-Eastman Funeral Home, 379 South Main, Wellington, from 10 a.m. until the time of services beginning at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Penfield Cemetery with Military Honors.
