David Alan Baker, passed away at his home on October 18, 2015 after battling cancer courageously. David was 51. He was born January 9, 1964, in Shelby and lived in the Plymouth Greenwich area all of his life.
David worked at Buurma Farms for the last 5 years as a mechanic. He had also worked as an engine machinist at Wakeman Auto for many years.
David was an avid racer for all of his adult life. He was a past champion at Summit Motorsports Park, where he did the bulk of his racing. His greatest accomplishment was his family, Stephanie, Michael and Alex.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Stephanie; sons, Michael and Alex; mother, Ruth Baker; brothers, Wayne and Danny (Renee); sisters, Dianna (Steve) Post and Wendy Kopecky; father and mother-in-law, Bob and Diane Buskey; brother-in-law, Paul (Dawn) Buskey; sister-in-law, Susan (Steve) McCormack; nephews, Dustin, Matt, Brandon and Calvin Baker, TJ Post and Mike Kopecky; nieces, Taylor and Camryn Buskey, Madison and Carleigh Kopecky, Kaileigh Lykins, Amber Baker, Alena Baker and Alivia (Zack) Rosales; great nephew, Antonio; many cousins and aunt, Betty (Jack) Carney.
He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas Baker.
David's family will greet friends from 1-6 pm Thursday, October 22, 2015 where a service will be held 11 am Friday at The Ripley Church, 4130 Edwards Road, Greenwich, Ohio. Burial will be at Greenwich Greenlawn Cemetery in Greenwich. Memorial contributions can be given to Stein Hospice, 1200 Sycamore Line, Sandusky, Ohio 44870.
