David "Dee" Hanson, 73, residing in Collins, passed away Sunday, July 3, 2022, at Firelands Regional Medical Center in Sandusky.
Dee was born on June 24, 1949, in Park Falls, Wisconsin to the late Harold and Iva (Gough) Hanson.
Dee graduated from Norwalk High School in 1969 and proudly served his country from 1970 to 1974 as a member of the United States Army. He worked at Bechtel McLaughlin in Sandusky for 7 years and M.A. Harrison for 8 years. Dee was an avid wrestling fan and enjoyed spending time with his nieces, nephews, and other relatives. He was known as the scooter king of Walmart as he enjoyed almost daily trips to Walmart where he would visit with friends and strangers alike.
Dee is survived by his 3 siblings, Roger Hanson of Norwalk, Joy (Ted) Case-Clime of Collin, and Paul (Debra) Hanson of Norwalk; pals and nephews, Mitchell Case and Corey Case, and best friends, Mike (Karen) Butler.
Dee was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Iva (Gough) Hanson.
A visitation will be held on Thursday, June 7th, 2022, from 2 pm until the time of funeral service at 4pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. Burial will be held at a later date in Draper, Wisconsin.
