David "Dave" L. Vance, 67, residing in Norwalk, passed away peacefully Wednesday, August 3, 2022, at home.
Dave was born on April 8, 1955, in Lodi, OH to the late Irene (Cottrell) Vance and Charles Vance.
Dave attended Wellington Schools and lived in Wellington for 50 years before moving to Norwalk. He was employed by St. Patrick Catholic Church in Wellington for 15 years as a dedicated groundskeeper. Dave was a skilled landscaper who enjoyed mowing and gardening. He was meticulous in keeping his property and plants beautiful. Dave enjoyed watching NASCAR and being social with his many friends.
Dave is survived by his 2 sons, Jason (Erika) Vance and Jeremy Vance, both of Norwalk; 7 grandchildren, Robert Parsons, Elizabeth Vance, Olivia Vance, Lester Swartz, Lela Swartz, Jessica Vance, and Jason Vance, Jr.; brother-in-law, Grant Cypher of Wellington, sister-in-law, Gail Smith of Lagrange, and many close friends who helped Dave in many ways.
In addition to his parents, Dave was preceded in death by his 3 brothers, Dan Vance, Kenny Vance, and Jimmy Vance, and his 2 sisters, Patricia Cypher, and Nettie Farnsworth.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, August 7, 2022, from 2 pm to 5 pm at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W. Main Street, Norwalk, OH 44857. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, August 8, 2022, at 11 am. A burial will follow at Woodlawn Cemetery.
