David H. Rohr, 46, Nova, died Sunday, November 14, 2010. A son of John and Amelia (nee O'Brien) Rohr, David was born and raised in Doylestown and has lived in Nova since the 1970s. David graduated with the 1982 Mapleton High School class and was the 138 state wrestling champion while in school. For over 20 years David worked for Fred W. Denk Inc. in Cleveland. He was a member of the Local 310 Laborers Union in Euclid and was known for his masonry work in the region. David was also a member of the Jesus the Good Shepherd Catholic Church in Nova, the Ashland Elks, The Eagles and a social member of the American Legion. Preceded in death by his mother Amelia Rohr and father-in-law David Steinen. Survived by his son, Justin Rohr of La Quinta, CA; daughters Janelle Rohr and Paige Rohr, both of Nova; 8 sisters, Martha Conrad of Doylestown, Mary Lucas of Doylestown, Sue (Bubby) Snow of Seville, Peg (Dave) Pierce of Doylestown, Janet (Craig) Dignan of Doylestown, Betty (Lenny) Broome of Doylestown, Theresa (Jeff) Williams of Doylestown, Amy (Jamie ) Reef of Ashland and 5 brothers, John (Barb) Rohr of Nova, Joe (Bernadette) Rohr of Doylestown, Paul (Sherry) Rohr of Nova, Kenny (Jill) Rohr of Nova, Mark (Hope) Rohr of Nova, many nieces and nephews, the Steinen family, special friend, Cathy Chandler and many more friends some of whom regarded him as a son, brother or dad. Dave was involved in many charitable activities and especially enjoyed sharing his masonry craftsmanship in the Dominican Republic where he could use his skills to help others. He loved hunting, fishing, gardening, and all that included nature. His hospitality was known by many as all were welcome in his home. Friends and family will be received from 4:30-9 p.m. Thursday, November 18th at the Mapleton Middle School Gymnasium, 635 County Road 801, Ashland. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. Friday at St. Edward's Church, 501 Cottage Street, Ashland. Burial will follow at the Nova Cemetery.
