David O. Smith, 58, of Norwalk, Ohio, entered into heavenly rest on Thursday, October 16, 2025, after many recent health issues at the Cleveland Clinic.  He was born on April 1, 1967, to the late William and Margie (Hall) Smith.  Dave graduated from Monroeville High School in 1985, where he was a member of the state championship basketball team.

Dave was a caring husband and loving father, and a Deacon and faithful member of the Cline Street Freewill Baptist Church.  He was also a devoted fan of the Ohio State Buckeyes and all Cleveland professional sports teams.  He enjoyed collecting baseball and football cards, vintage Mickey Mouse collectibles, and trips to Disney with his family.  He worked at ArcelorMittal in Shelby.

He is survived by his loving wife of 30 years, Lori (Fitzwater) Smith; daughter, Taylor Fitzwater (Shawn Chetto); brother, Billy (Jen) Smith; mother in-law, Rita Fitzwater; sister in-law, Melissa Williams; niece, Kiara Williams; and nephews, Justin Marshall and Ryan Smith.

In addition to his parents, William and Margie (Hall) Smith, he was also preceded in death by his father in-law, Roger Fitzwater.

Friends and family are invited to his visitation on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Walker-Eastman-Heydinger Funeral Home, 98 W.
