Obituary

Deborah (Deb) Brown, 87, of Norwalk and a long-time resident of Greenwich, Ohio, peacefully passed away on July 8, 2024, to be with her Lord and Savior. Deb was born on February 23, 1937, in Ripley Township, the daughter of the late Vern and Ruth (Swanger) Barre. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith.

Deb was a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, neighbor and friend. She was the beloved wife of the late Lawrence Brown Jr., married on August 29, 1952, in Knoxville, Tennessee. They shared 42 wonderful years of marriage fi led with family and love. Her life was a testament to love, resilience, and unwavering faith. She was a nurturing and supportive mother to her children, Michael, Cynthia, and Larry, who were her greatest blessings and the light of her life. She dedicated herself to raising them with love and wisdom.

Deb's sweetest source of happiness was family, particularly in her roles as a grandmother and great-grandmother. She was affectionately known as "Grandma Deb" and "Tootsie Roll Grandma" to her eight grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren, who brought immense joy to her later years. Tootsie Ro l Grandma cherished the moments spent teaching her grandchildren and great-grandchildren to play cards. She also enjoyed playing cards with neighbors and friends, where friendly competition and heartfelt conversations fi led the room with cheerfulness and camaraderie. She was a long-time member of The Ripley Church and spent many years volunteering and supporting those in need. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and inspiring those around her.

Deb is survived by her children Michael (Deb) and Larry (Kelly); son-in-law Gerald (Sandi); her grandchildren Molly, Ashley, Krissy, Hannah, Bradley, Hollie, April, and Jarrod; her great-grandchildren Trey, Bode, Dominic, Frankie, Vinnie, Piper, Sammy, Beau, Knox, Liberty, Reese, Reagan, Alex, Max, Brady, Levi and Elliot; and her many friends and extended family members. She was preceded in death by her husband, Jr, and her daughter, Cynthia.

The family is deeply grateful for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult time. A Celebration of Life memorial service will be held on August 10, 2024, at The Ripley Church, 4130 Edward's Rd, Greenwich, Ohio, where friends and family will celebrate Deb's life. Visitation with the family starts at 11 a.m., and the celebration begins at noon. In lieu of flowers, she requested donations be sent to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.

Deb's legacy of love, kindness, generosity, and card playing will forever remain in our hearts—rest in peace, dear Mom, Grandma Deb, Tootsie Roll Grandma, and friend. You will be deeply missed and eternally loved. LVU, LVU, LVU.
