Debra Kay Sparks, 41, of Wellington, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2018. Born in Oberlin on March 5, 1977, she was the daughter of Ruth (nee Remmele) and Dave Werdebaugh. Debra was a 1996 graduate of Wellington High School and later earned her nursing certification through the EHOVE Nursing Program. Debra was an LPN at Amherst Manor for 11 years and prior to that she worked for Elms Retirement Village. She took great care in her job and built strong relationships with the residents she served. Debra was an active member of Lincoln Street Chapel. She was very involved with her children and their activities including helping with Spirit Boosters of WHS Cheerleaders, selling spirit wear, and Youth Football. Debra leaves behind her loving husband, Matthew Sparks; precious children, Nicole and Alex Sparks; siblings, David (Carrie) Werdebaugh, Lori Werdebaugh and Bobbi (Steve) Marchand; sister-in-law, Tracey (Rich) Logan; nephews, Ian, Adam, Kaleb and Josh; and niece, Elizabeth. Family and friends will be received on Friday, January 4, 2018 at Lincoln Street Chapel, 139 Lincoln Street, Wellington, from 4-8 pm, where services will be held on Saturday at 11 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenwood Cemetery.
