Denise Marie Cuson, 50, of New London, died Thursday, March 15, 2012 at Stein Hospice Care Center in Sandusky after winning her long battle. Born on September 15, 1961, Denise was born and raised in Oberlin and attended Oberlin High School. Denise moved to New London in 2005. She loved working at New London Local Schools, where she retired after her illness. She previously worked highway construction at Great Lakes Construction in Cleveland. Denise was a people-person who loved to smile and treasured time spent with her family. She is survived by her husband of 30 years, Mark; daughters, Carla Cuson of Lakewood and Brandy Cuson of New London; granddaughter, Tiana of New London; mother, Beverly Barkacs of Fitchville and brothers, David Barkacs of New London, Donald Barkacs of Elyria and Duane Barkacs of New London. She was preceded in death by her father, Ronald Barkacs. A visitation will be held Monday from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Eastman Funeral Home, 200 West Main Street, New London where a service will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. Burial will take place at a later date.
