Dennis E. Dawson, 62, of Ashland, died Tuesday, November 12, 2024 at UH Samaritan Hospital. Born on April 4, 1962, in New London, he was the son of the late Raymond Dean Keener and Edrie (nee Nichols) Speece. Denny was a graduate of Ashland High School and the Pittsburgh Culinary Institute.

Denny worked as a chef for many years and then for Pioneer National Latex until their closure. He enjoyed cooking and could always be found with a Dr. Pepper.

Survivors include his son, Deric (Anika) Keener; grandchildren, Autumn and Tyson; sister, Cindy Young; brother, Ken (Beth) Keener; step-siblings, Angela Phillips, Dewayne "Frank" Christian, and Debbie Christian; and step-mother, Linda Keener. In addition to his parents, Dennis was preceded in death by his step-father, Bob Speece.
