Dennis R. McConnell, 72, life long resident of New London, died Thursday, August 7, 2014 at his home after a 3 year illness. Born on April 11, 1942 in New London, to the late Robert and Marigrace McConnell. He graduated in 1960 from New London High School. Dennis served in the US Army as part of the USA Science and Technology Center in Tokyo, Japan. He worked 26 ½ years as an offset press operator at Nordson Corporation in Amherst. Dennis was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church in New London. He was an avid walker who was very seldom idle. Dennis enjoyed working and watching television. Dennis is survived by his wife of 51 years, Betty Ann; son, Chris McConnell of New London and siblings, Sally Roeder of New London, Mary (John) Burk and Sharon Gray both of Mansfield. Friends may call 5-8 p.m. Sunday at Eastman Funeral Home, New London with a Rosary service at 8 p.m. A service will be held 11 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Church, 18 Park Ave, New London with Father Doug Taylor officiating. Burial will follow in Holy Cross Cemetery, New London.
