Derek Robert Isner, 31, of New London, died Monday, May 14, 2012 at the University of Toledo Medical Center after a lengthy illness. He was born July 16, 1980, in Norwalk and was a life long resident of New London. Derek graduated from New London High School in 1998. He worked at Wal-Mart in Norwalk for several years, Reese Brothers in Norwalk and most recently at Motel 6 in Avery. He was an avid movie buff, he especially loved Twilight Zone along with Hitchcock and Johnny Depp movies and memorabilia. Derek also enjoyed playing video games. Survivors include his parents, Robert and Janet (Shreve) Isner of New London and many aunts, uncles and cousins. Derek was preceded in death by his brother, Toby in 2008; maternal grandparents, Robert and Janice Schlegel and paternal grandparents, Robert Isner and Mary Marett. There will be no services. Donations may be made in Derek's name to the American Diabetes Association or Kidney Foundation.
